I am sure that many of you are aware that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The Church is a very important part of my life and I appreciate the blessing that I have received because of the Gospel.
The first weekend of every April and October, the Church holds a general meeting for all members, General Conference. It takes place in Salt Lake City and is broadcast throughout the world. It is our chance to hear from our leaders and to receive information and inspiration from our prophet, Thomas S. Monson.
In the first session of General Conference, on Saturday morning, we were told that the Church will be building a temple in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida!! It will be the second temple in Florida, as there is one in Orlando. This is such an exciting time because it shows the faithfulness of the members of South Florida and their willingness to serve the Lord. The Church will also be building temples in Brigham City, Utah, Japan, Chile, and Brazil. There are currently 130 working temples in the world, with 21 temples under construction.
