Medievil Times

Ah, the 11th Century. When life was simpler and people did not use utensils. A few weeks ago, Jim, Quinn and I decided that we needed to go back and revisit those times. We chose a date in which to go, invited some more people....and then everyone backed out except for Jim and I. Tragedy. Luckily, Jim and I are easily entertained. Let me describe the scene. You walk into a a castle like building, give a wench your ticket and you are assigned a knight, which also designates where you will be sitting for dinner. Once you are seated, a servant comes along, explaining that while he will not be able to look you in the eye, it would be his pleasure to serve you. The rest of the evening is filled with knights, jousting and proving their valor, and horses. And eating with your hands.

Our knight was the Red Knight. Nice guy, a little shifty, and nearly as tall as Jim (which is not an easy feat, let me tell you!) He won all the challenges but when his back was turned, the Green Knight stabbed him. We were not happy. But Jim was a big fan of the Red Knight and to show his appreciation, every time the Red Knight passed by, Jim would wave his spirit banner and yell "Red Knight!!". It was amazing.

I was more of a fan of the Yellow and Red Knight, whom we dubbed "the Spaniard". I was a particular fan when he had his hair slicked back in a ponytail. Very nice. He did not win, but was very gracious about taking a picture with us.

And then we come to the hated Green Knight. Look at him, with his sly grin. He has no idea what is in store for him (Jim beat him up after this, in honor of the Red Knight). If you notice in the background, the Blue Knight is hanging out...We dubbed him Justin Timberlake...you can guess why.
We rounded out the evening by watching Step Up 2: The Streets with Meg and deciding to form our own dance crew, since Meg got kicked out of her last one. Auditions will be next week...and then we take it to The Streets!
